Hello colour!!! Karla Spetic, like many other designers at this year's RAFW embraced a trend for highly saturated colours with minimal and clean styling. Paired with bright orange lips and a sleek ponytail (a favourite combination of mine), we saw a spectacular palette of orange, lilac, violet, apple green, sapphire blue, lime, crisp white, black and chocolate. Think modern resort with a punch. The fleur de lis motifs in bold colour blocking gave great impact to simple shifts and straight skirts. We also saw lots of peek-a-boo cut outs and 70s style halter necks. Can't wait for summer to come around again!

Stella Loves ... Flannel (RAFW 2011)

Another great collection by Flannel this year. Named "La Sakura", there were clear influences from both traditional Japanese and French cultures - mainly in the vintage kimo looking prints and cuts, and the delicate chiffon ruffles.It was also refreshing to see some new additions for Flannel, including the print, evening gowns and bright colours in shades of red, watermelon and coral. Favourites? The macramé and fringing jumpsuit which closed with Julia Nobis and the coral maxi dress, with soft ruffles at the shoulders ... nice!

Stevie Loves .... Friend Of Mine (RAFW 2011)

After making our way out of the Friend Of Mine show, I overheard someone describe it as "soft porn". A pretty prude statement, but I guess that with all the mini leather shorts, PVC pants, animal skin, harnesses and nipple action going, you could kind of get how they thought that. Personally I like anything slightly hardcore, but that's besides the point. Anyway, apart from all the sexy "girl's got attitude" threads with clear infulence from Alexandra Spencer (aka 4th and bleeker), there were some very cool suede ankle boots with what looked like gold claws wrapped around the heel. Stella Loves ... Arnsdorf (RAFW 2011)

The first Monday of May is the most important and highly anticipated Monday of the year in the Australian fashion industry. Yup, game on - it's Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. We kick-started our schedule with Jade Sarita Arnott's label Arnsdorf. Opening with the lovely Julia Nobis, we saw a fresh summer palette for this year's range consisting of crisp white, nude, mint and onyx with orange and fuchsia highlights. Looks were minimal, but with detail showing in the featured panel lines and draping. Our favourites were a white-on-white asymmetric sheer cross-over top with wide leg trousers, a mint shirt dress worn as a skirt with a silk fuchsia shirt and the envelope clutch bags. A very good start to the week!

Stella Loves ... Bec & Bridge

With wearable pieces from each range worth drooling over, I was really looking forward to seeing what Bec & Bridge had installed for their third RAFW show. Titled “Smoke Without Fire”, models emerged from an eerie fog, dusted with coloured powder and adorned in chunky “Flintstone” jewellery (ironically by Dinosaur Designs). There was plenty of fabric draping, pinching, twisting and knotting, as well as some mesh insert panels and soft colour blocking. A chalky palette of grey, bone, khaki, apricot, peach and sage, with some gold lurex also getting a look in. All in all, another great season!

Stevie Loves ... Bassike (RAFW Day 1)

An awesome clean cut range. Loved the double denim, loose distressed knits, black and white stripes and eagle prints. Stand out pieces included a powder blue men's suit, a girls' olive funnel-neck parker dress, and a girls' crisp white shirt with a long tail at the back.

Stella Loves ... Lucette (RAFW Day 1)

Lucette's first RAFW appearance was a modern day warrior woman collection packed with attitude. There were plenty of exposed zips, buckles, chains, leather harnesses, shoulder pads, peg-bag pockets, splicing, mesh insert panels and lots of jewelled embellishing. I especially loved the bright cobalt blue used in their main print and of course, the amzing shoes by Tristan Blair - get me a pair of those!
