Stella Loves ... Camilla & Marc

Set in the decadent surroundings of the State Theatre, camilla & marc was the show no one wanted to miss. A range best described as modern baroque - the duo combined bold colour blocking, regale silk brocades, modern scuba styling and neoprene, traditional peplum frills, dropped waistlines and embellished fabrics, all together to create this unique and exciting collection. We also saw a very impressive accessories line, including perspex clutches in bright neon colours and some beautiful green suede totes. A very strong collection together with a state of the art venue, the camilla & marc show was definitely one of the most memorable shows of RAFW 2011.

Stella Loves ... Gary Bigeni

Hands down, Gary Bigeni is the king of draping!! No one on the Australian fashion scene can twist, drape and fold fabric into deliciously fluid and elegant creations like he can. This season's "Distance" collection was no exception to that - displaying his signature talent in a brilliant colour palette (ranging from adventurous brights to more subtle neutrals and pastels). It was also refreshing to see the addition of some leather, printed and more tailored pieces which is a first for Bigeni - bold horizontal stripes, blazers and boxy shells to name a few. So many delectable summer outfits to choose from - now if only winter would hurry up and go away!!!

Stella Loves ... Bianca Spender

Heavily influenced by modern art between 1910-1918, Bianca Spender served up an abstract collection in what seems to be this season's favourite colour palette - monochrome and nude with bright orange and cobalt blue. We could clearly see how she experimented with the concept of using squares to create shape for the body - both with soft draping and angular sharp lines. A very chic summer range, completed with with some very nice colour blocked sandals!

Stella Loves ... Alice McCall (RAFW 2011)

Oh my! I cannot wait till these little numbers hit the stores later this year!! "The Dansant" is a romantic modern rococo collection using delicate sheers and embroidery anglaise to name a few. There were some cute little short pieces with soft volume, ankle length dresses and pants, cut-out motifs and panels and some gorgeous Holland blue china prints - all styled with those kick-arse "Lana" boots by Jeffery Campbell.

Stevie Loves ... Fernando Frisoni (RAFW 2011)

After a week of doom and gloom rain, the sun finally decided to come out for Fernando Frisoni. That and the Opera House as the venue, made a stunning backdrop for the parade. Clean and simple - a lux sport look in black and gold, silver and crisp white with beautiful textured fabrics and the odd fringing detail. Not as much menswear as last year unfortunately, but still a killer range.

Stella Loves ... Marnie Skillings (RAFW 2011)

It was so refreshing to see a wide collection of prints at Marine Skillings compared to the clean minimalism we were seeing at most other shows. Don't get me wrong - I love LOVE that look, but it was nice all the same to see Marnie steer away from the pack. A very eclectic and flirtatious range - throwing together vintage florals, dainty leopard print, delicate lace, 70s maxi dresses, feathered cardigans and floaty tiered ruffles, all teamed up with chunky cuffs and coloured mesh socks. Just fabulous!

Stevie Loves ... Amber & Thomas (RAFW 2011)

Melbourne based label Amber & Thomas have been holidaying it up with their latest collection "Le Voyage" - apparently inspired by recent trips to Morocco and the Hotel Il Pellicano in Tuscany. Umm ... could someone throw a little annual leave with some spending money this way?! Anyway, some killer resort wear to kick-start your holiday romance. Look uber sophisticated in those 70s wide leg trousers, any of the tan items or the Moroccan inspired diamond print in pale blue, jade and cobalt blue.

Stella Loves ... Nookie (RAFW 2011)

I must admit that I was not really anticipating on going to see the Nookie show, but seeing as it was in between two shows in my schedule, I went anyway. And I'm glad I did. Not only were guests entertained with an African drumming introduction, we saw body painted models parade around a tribal inspired circle catwalk in prints that mirrored this boho desert flower theme. Favourites were definitely some of the lace/crochet numbers and I-just-chucked-this-on maxi dresses, however wasn't a fan of the guys "skants" (skirt/pants). Nookie were also very generous in their gift bags (everyone got one!) and did I mention they had twin models? How cool is that?!
