An exciting, action packed, sensory-overloaded and hard working week (aka Rosemount Australian Fashion Week), was kicked off for us with Ginger & Smart – and in no way was this short of first show expectations. Known as “The Transcendent”, this collection refers to “the fourth state of consciousness ... which lies beyond walking, dreaming and sleeping” (words RAFW blog). A very wearable collection with a soft colour palette (monochrome mixed with pastels) – we saw lots of sheer textiles, magar sleeves, boat necklines, low-plunging silk tops, tier ruffles, soft cinching at the waist, drop crotch pants and relaxed suiting to name a few. There were plenty of exciting digital prints (think holographic laser beams and marbled galaxies) and interesting details such as laser cutting and decorative pleating/folding. All in all, a great start to the week and our blog!!
